PURPOSE
- The Surginet / SAM Administrator (Systems Admin) is a
Registered Nurse BSN who provides daily management and technical
direction for the Perioperative Department and the Electronic
Healthcare Record (EHR).
- The System Administrator Perioperative Data Systems will guide
the staff through all phases of implementation at all sites,
serving as the contact person for all EHR questions, issues, and
new initiatives, providing long-term support of the system.
- The Perioperative Data Systems Administrator will also manage
and coordinate all the support staff for the EHR including site EHR
Support Staff. The Perioperative Data Systems Administrator will
also coordinate all the training of new and current Perioperative
staff for live sites and future sites.
- Full-Time benefited position scheduled 40 hours per week.What
You Will Do
- Provides support for EHR issues by 1) working with end-users on
process related issues, 2) assisting on-site Perioperative staff in
troubleshooting problems, researching prior
problems/resolutions.
- Creates/revises EHR record documentation based on needs
identified by others.
- Participates in charge validation by supporting correct EHR
record documentation.
- Coordinates build and modification of macros for EHR
Perioperative users.
- Assists Perioperative staff in data validation, record
reconciliation, completion of incomplete records, wrong encounter
record revisions, and cancelled case dissociation /re-associations
EHR issues.
- Works effectively with all system subject matter experts from
Trinity Health Trinity TIS, Trinity Home Office to monitor
performance for functional areas of EHR.
- Facilitates effective integration of clinical information
systems with other improvement initiatives that will enhance
patient care. Participates in improving patient safety and reducing
risk to patients including the active support of organization
quality improvement initiatives.
- Acts as a change agent for nursing, physicians and all
ancillary departments and promotes a positive acceptance of the
clinical information system. Assists clinical end users to
effectively manage the system as a tool and to understand the
benefits of the system.
- Coordinates the addition of new devices for EHR with Trinity
Integration team.
- Communicates procedure/process when issue is resolved, and if a
general downtime occurs.
- Primary contact for upgrades related to the Perioperative
area.
- Manages the daily functions of the EHR system in the
Perioperative Department. Provides or analyzes trends to identify
issues and make recommendations.
- Oversees training on the EHR for Perioperative staff.
- Functions as project manager through leadership facilitation
skills and collaboration in analyzing, planning, directing,
implementing, and evaluating projects related to clinical
informatics systems.
- Interprets, applies, and promotes consistent application of
hospital/department policies and monitors compliance.
- Assists in policy development, revision, interpretation in
collaboration with other management resources.
- Assists in leading or participates in initiatives to improve
productivity, resource management and operating efficiency.
- Coordinate issues with other departments in the facility.
Communicate issues and processes affecting those departments.
- Mentors and supervises project members and influences them to
take a positive action and accountability for their assigned
work.Miniumum Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Michigan Nursing License
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Experience: Minimum of two years of perioperative
experience.
- Clinical Experience - Understands the surgical flow within the
organization from scheduling to discharge of patient and all phases
in-between. Should have knowledge of present charge processes.
Should be familiar with materials management and practices of other
departments integrated in the surgical flow.Position Benefits And
