Human Resources Generalist Location: Brownstown, MI Role Summary
Keystone Automotive Operations, Inc. is currently looking to hire
an HR Generalist for our Brownstown, MI location. Our HR
Generalists are at the heart of our Distribution Center operations,
supporting the people side of the business with high energy and
meaningful impact. In this role, you’ll partner closely with
leaders and employees to deliver hands-on HR support, ensure
policies and practices are applied consistently, and help foster a
positive, high-performing workplace. You’ll also keep daily office
operations running seamlessly, playing a key part in creating an
organized, compliant, and people-focused environment where our
operations teams can thrive. Key Responsibilities Handling employee
relations for warehouse and delivery associates (multiple shifts).
Applicant screening, interviewing, and managing the onboarding
process through ATS (Applicant Tracking System). Responsible for
documenting attendance, PTO, and timecards. Assisting with
payroll-related issues. Being familiar with and prepared to assist
with employee benefits. Documenting, filing, and assisting with
managing workers' comp claims and FMLA-related issues. Coordinating
employee disciplinary issues with the HR department for resolution
and action. Travel to each regional cross-dock (delivery hub) if
needed; Trips are typically 1 to 3 days long. Responding to general
HR related inquiries from employees. Managing and coordinating
office activities. Hiring, training, and supervising administration
support staff. Managing general services, including purchasing of
office supplies, mail distribution, office equipment maintenance
and repair, and facility-related issues. Maintaining contact with
outside vendors and suppliers regarding office and facility needs.
Gathering, organizing, and summarizing data and information for
management reports. Implementing and maintaining general office
systems, procedures, and methods, directing a combination of
activities including. Record retention. Preparation and control of
common and administrative expenses/budgets. Assume other duties as
assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in HR,
Business, or related field. 3 to 5 years of experience in Human
Resources. Prior experience in a distribution center/warehouse
environment is a plus! Knowledge of the principles and practices of
Human Resources, ability to provide unbiased evaluations to all
personnel, and knowledge of employee benefits. Possess excellent
communication skills. Able to maintain a good working relationship
with others. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to add, subtract,
multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios,
and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to
create, maintain, and incorporate functions into Word documents,
Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to
support business objectives. Regularly use moderately complex oral
and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact
with others, and make presentations to the department or middle
management. Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive,
and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
Decisions impact the management and operations within a department
or business unit. May contribute to business and operational
decisions that affect the department. Results are defined; sets
personal goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no
guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance
and overall direction. Handle multiple tasks or projects
simultaneously with moderate complexity. Work Environment Work is
primarily sedentary: you must be able to sit for extended periods
of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Travel may be
required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on
position requirements). Must be able to lift upwards of 25 pounds.
