BluePearl Pet Hospital in Southfield, MI is seeking a motivated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our growing emergency department. If you looking to take the next step in your career, don't wait and apply today!WE ARE OFFERING A $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR CREDENTIALED TECHNICIANS!Schedule: The schedule for this role will be either be 4 ten-hour shifts or 3 twelve-hour shifts.Pay: $23.00 - $44.00 / hourThis pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the CareerTrax leveling system.** Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience**We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.For example:Mon Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift DifferentialSat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift DifferentialSat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift DifferentialOur 38,000-square-foot hospital has onsite CT, a linear accelerator, an endolaser and digital radiography. We focus exclusively on emergency treatment and advanced specialty veterinary care. Our departments include ER, Cardiology, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Urgent Care, Ophthalmology, and Surgery.Our BluePearl Emergency Veterinary Technicians:Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.Place and maintain feeding tubes.Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.Why BluePearl?Our passion is pets.
